JUNIOR FUND ANALYST
Leargas Capital (“Leargas” or the “Company”) is a boutique alternative asset manager of institutional capital focused on investment opportunities across US and international mortality linked investment markets. The Company is a growing and entrepreneurial team seeking to add a Junior Fund Analyst as the business continues to scale.
Located in Westport Connecticut, Leargas seeks a candidate who is a motivated self-starter with a background in financial services and a demonstrated track record of data management, operational risk management and reporting. This position represents an opportunity to join a small team and help influence growth and strategic direction of Leargas. A successful candidate will be a highly focused self-starter who enjoys independent work, with minimal supervision, and being part of a small, entrepreneurial team.
Responsibilities:
· Build relationships with core Third Party Administrators (“TPAs”) in order to manage TPAs effectively and direct TPAs across the tasks and activities assigned thereto
· Effectively manage, monitor and review in-force Fund Investments
· Aggregate data from multiple sources to generate report/ dashboards to be used to make decisions at the level of individual Fund investments
· Develop and maintain firm level Standard Operating Procedures (“SOPs”) and controls frame work
· Take ownership of aggregation of all data (both directly and via management of TPA relationships) & analytics by providing analysis and key takeaways
· Create and maintain internal dashboards that measure both fund performance, and performance of TPAs
· Assist with due diligence activities for fund acquisition opportunities, and present results to senior management and external investors
· Create and present executive level reporting
· Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
· BA/BS with a major in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field
· 1-5 years of experience in financial services environment
· Goal and results focused mindset
· Fluent understanding of financial calculations including Internal Rate of Return, and Net Present Value
· Detail oriented with exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills
· Self-starter with ability to work independently in an autonomous environment
· Ability to clearly articulate complex matters, both verbally and in writing
· Ability to manage time efficiently while juggling multiple objectives
· Aptitude to learn the Leargas investment management process
· Be comfortable getting involved outside of job spec
· Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, specifically Microsoft Excel
· Understanding of VBA & SQL an advantage
