    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

    We are seeking a passionate and experienced Lead Teacher to join our licensed early learning center. The ideal candidate will play a key role in fostering a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment where children can grow and develop socially, emotionally, and academically. As a Lead Teacher, you will develop and implement curriculum plans, guide teaching assistants, and ensure compliance with state licensing standards and center policies.

    Reports to: FH Learning Center Director

    QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

    A mature relationship with Jesus Christ that is clear and evident

    Passion for early childhood education

    Experience in an early learning environment, with at least 1 year in a leadership role.

    Current certification in child CPR and First Aid (or willingness to obtain)

    Interest in a stable and supportive work environment

    Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, written, and organizational skills

    A strong team player and collaborator

    Ability to handle confidential information

    Proven leadership skills

    Ability to multitask

    Detail-oriented

    Experience with Brightwheel is a plus

    Ability to handle conflict in a Biblical way

    This role may include work outside of normal business hours

    Has or will seek to have any certifications and/or ongoing training needed for this role (CDA or bach in early childhood ed, etc)

    PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Curriculum and Instruction

    Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that promote cognitive, social, and emotional growth. We utilize Experience Curriculum for developmental & academics and Orange Curriculum for Bible/Chapel.

    Create a stimulating and inclusive classroom environment that encourages exploration, creativity, and hands-on learning.

    Incorporate a variety of teaching methods and materials to address diverse learning styles and abilities.

    Observe and assess children’s progress, maintaining accurate developmental records.

    Classroom Management

    Foster a safe, nurturing, and respectful environment for all children.

    Establish and maintain consistent routines and classroom rules to support positive behavior.

    Supervise children to ensure their health, safety, and well-being at all times.

    Team Leadership

    Provide guidance and mentorship to teaching assistants and support staff in the classroom.

    Model best practices in teaching and classroom management for the team.

    Collaborate with the Center Director to ensure program goals and standards are met.

    Parent and Family Engagement

    Build strong relationships with families, communicating regularly about their child’s development and classroom activities.

    Organize and participate in parent-teacher conferences and other center events.

    Offer support and resources to parents to reinforce learning at home.

    Compliance and Professionalism

    Maintain compliance with state licensing regulations, including documentation, safety, and health standards.

    Stay current on early childhood education best practices through professional development.

    Uphold the mission, vision, and values of the center in all interactions.

    Skills and Competencies

    Strong knowledge of child development principles and early learning standards.

    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    Ability to lead and motivate a team with professionalism and respect.

    Organizational skills and attention to detail in managing classroom records and activities.

    Familiarity with curriculum frameworks.

    Physical Requirements

    Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

    Frequent bending, standing, and walking to engage with children and ensure a safe environment.

    Capacity to work in a lively, fast-paced environment.
