Legal Administrative Assistant
Our busy legal firm is looking for an efficient, organized legal assistant to help our attorneys and paralegals assist our clients and ensure we’re operating efficiently. You’ll assist with the preparation of legal documents, and handle all office correspondence including answering phone calls and emails, arranging meetings and travel, and reminding the team of upcoming deadlines. Responsibilities: • Process client billing properly using daily time records with help from the accounting department • Undertake other duties as needed to ensure the firm operates efficiently • Handle office correspondence and administrative tasks such as responding to emails and phone calls, communicating with opposing attorney offices, taking dictation, and letting the team know about upcoming deadlines • Make travel arrangements, schedule meetings and appointments for the team, such as depositions, and coordinate with outside vendors for events • Assist with the creation of various litigation documents, including pleadings, motions, subpoenas, affidavits, contracts, and briefs for case preparation, and proofread documents a needed • Enter the client planning goals into the firm software and prepare the documents for presentation to the client for signing, including printing, collating the documents, and conducting designated client signing meetings. Qualifications: • 1-2 years of prior experience in a law firm environment as a secretary or administrative assistant • Organizational skills and communication skills are necessary for this position • Some college is preferred; high school diploma or equivalent is required • Must be able to type at least 50 WPM • Some knowledge of legal software, case management, and docketing programs Compensation: $30,000 - $40,000 yearly
