    Our busy criminal defense and personal injury law firms are looking for an efficient, organized legal assistant to help our attorneys assist clients and ensure we’re operating efficiently. You’ll assist two attorneys with the preparation of legal documents, and handle all office correspondence, including answering phone calls and emails, arranging meetings and travel, and reminding the team of upcoming deadlines. If you have experience in a law firm environment, work well under pressure, produce excellent work product, and are looking for a rewarding opportunity in the legal industry, we want to connect with you. Attention to detail, reliability, and typing speed are extremely important for success in the Legal Assistant Position. Only applicants with a typing speed of at least 50 WPM will be considered for employment. Please note that the first three months of employment entail a probationary period where the starting pay is $20-$22/hr., depending on experience. After the three (3) month probationary period, pay will transition to salary. We offer 401(k), dental, vision, and health insurance, after the completion of the three (3) month probationary period. This position can be your entry into the legal field or a role you can continuously grow, learn, and develop in. Responsibilities: • Maintain the Attorney's calendar • Transcribe and draft various correspondence, Motions, Court Orders, and other legal documents • Manage Office Correspondence • Assist with other tasks that are necessary within the role Qualifications: • Must be able to type at least 50 WPM • Experience with legal software, litigation case management, and docketing programs • At least 1-2 years of previous experience in a law firm setting performing administrative tasks • Able to meet demanding deadlines in a fast-paced environment • Candidates should have strong organizational skills and communication skills • Ability to comfortably use all Microsoft Office products • High school diploma or equivalent is required; associate’s degree is a plus • Individuals with either recent prior law firm experience of over 8 months or typing speed over 65 WPM will receive preferential hiring treatment. Compensation: $50,000 - $58,500 yearly
