Our firm is looking for an experienced legal administrator with strong leadership skills to assist our team. This position requires overseeing the day-to-day functions of all departments. The ideal candidate will have prior experience with human resources responsibilities such as recruiting, hiring, and onboarding staff and be familiar with employee benefits. You’ll also coordinate plans for our meetings and events during the year. Responsibilities: • Bring new talent to the firm and onboard new employees • Initiate annual evaluation process for staff and follow through to completion • Direct day-to-day office operations, provide administrative support for legal services, and enforce office procedures • Oversee all employee benefits, such as health insurance enrollments and renewals, long and short term disability, flexible spending accounts, 401(k) and profit-sharing options • Communicate across departments ensuring contracts for office equipment, software, hardware, and office supplies are up-to-date • Review and Input data entry fields for income and expenses in Quickbooks • Reconcile the various legal accounts each month Qualifications: • A high school diploma or equivalent and Associate’s degree in public administration, human resources, paralegal studies, or similar field is required - Bachelor’s degree is highly valued • Superior leadership, communication skills, and time management skills are required to multitask effectively in this role • 5 years’ experience in a legal department as a legal administrative assistant, support staff, executive assistant, bookkeeper, legal assistant, or legal secretary is necessary - Similar experience as an office administrator or medical office management is also acceptable • Up-to-date knowledge of the legal industry, (legal research, legal terminology, and case management practices) is an asset • Applicants should have advanced computer skills including MS Office (word, excel, and email)
