Legal Assistant – Asbestos Litigation & Bankruptcy

Our Legal Assistant will be responsible for:
Client Communication: Serve as a liaison to our clients, ensuring they receive timely, empathetic updates from attorneys and case managers about the progress of their cases. Your role is crucial in making our clients feel supported and informed throughout the process.
Prepare Legal Documents: Working with attorneys and case managers, draft, edit, and prepare legal documents for client signature and case filing, correspondence to clients, co-counsel, and opposing counsel, as well as internal reports on the status of leads and cases.
Execution of Legal Documents: Facilitate the execution of legal documents, ensuring proper signatures and notarizations as needed, often working with client to secure notary availability and timely return of the documents.
Document Indexing and File Maintenance: Display exceptional organizational skills in the Receipt of documents and records from clients, medical facilities, co-counsel, and others, properly saving and organizing these documents into the client files, and timely notifying attorneys and case managers.
Managing Case Management System: Work to maintain accurate updates, document organization, KeyDate entries, and other tasks in the case management system to ensure each case is up to date. Work with attorneys and case managers on special case management system projects to update and optimize system usage.
Case Management Reporting: Work with managing attorney to create daily weekly, and other periodic reports and delivering these reports to legal staff, co-counsel, and experts.
Qualified Candidates will have:
Minimum of 2 years of experience as a legal assistant or paralegal.
Experience in legal case management; prior work with a focus on asbestos and asbestos bankruptcy cases is highly valued.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and e-signature software.
Proficiency and experience in CRM systems, with a deep understanding of their role in enhancing client communication, data management, and workflow optimization.
Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
Strong interpersonal skills and conversational ability with clients, team members, co-counsel, experts, and other outside vendors.
High attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
Perform some administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing calendars and handling correspondence related to asbestos cases.
