    Our growing estate planning and elder law firm is looking for an efficient, organized legal assistant to help our attorneys and paralegals assist clients and ensure we’re operating efficiently. You’ll assist with the preparation of legal documents and handle all office correspondence, including answering phone calls and emails, arranging meetings and travel, and reminding the team of upcoming deadlines. This is a new position that comes with a $1,000 starting bonus for qualified candidates. Responsibilities: • Process client billing properly using daily time records with help from the accounting department • Be willing to take on any other necessary administrative tasks to help the firm run smoothly • Handle office correspondence and administrative tasks such as responding to emails and phone calls, communicating with opposing attorney offices, taking dictation, and letting the team know about upcoming deadlines • Help with creating a variety of documents, including proofreading documents when necessary. • Schedule meetings and appointments for the team and coordinate with outside events • Communicating with financial advisors, CPAs, and medical institutions. • Gathering and organizing financial information. • Managing client files. • Process client billing properly with help from the accounting department. • Continue to remind the team about upcoming deadlines. • Be willing to take on any other necessary administrative tasks to help the team. • Coordinate marketing activities, presentations, and materials. Qualifications: • Candidates should have strong organizational skills and communication skills • Some college is preferred; high school diploma or equivalent is required • At least 1-2 years of previous experience in a law firm setting performing administrative tasks • Must be able to prioritize tasks with demanding deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment • Candidates must have worked with legal software, case management, and docketing programs Compensation: $18 - $20 hourly
