A leading law firm is seeking a Legal Assistant to join their team in Boston. This position is responsible for providing administrative and legal support to attorneys and paralegals across various practice areas, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Document Preparation & Management: Assist with preparing legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and correspondence. Proofread and review documents for accuracy, grammar, and completeness.
- Case File Organization: Create, maintain, and organize client files, ensuring proper storage and management by the firm’s record-keeping policies.
- Legal Research & Case Support: Conduct factual research and assist in the preparation of legal memoranda, summaries, and case analysis.
- Court Filings & Deadlines: File legal documents with courts, ensuring timely and accurate submissions. Monitor case deadlines and manage the internal case docket.
- Communication & Coordination: Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel as necessary. Coordinate meetings, hearings, and depositions for attorneys.
- Calendar & Travel Management: Maintain attorneys' calendars, scheduling appointments, meetings, and travel arrangements.
- Expense & Billing Support: Prepare and submit expense reports and assist with billing by tracking time entries and ensuring accuracy.
- Confidentiality & Discretion: Handle confidential and sensitive information with the utmost discretion.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Experience: At least 1-2 years of experience in a legal assistant or similar administrative role, preferably in a law firm or professional services environment.
- Software Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with knowledge of legal software (e.g., iManage, Time Entry Systems) preferred.
- Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Compensation and Benefits:
- The expected hourly pay range for this position with a 40-hour workweek is $26.00 - $32.00 ($54,080.00 - $66,560.00 annually).
