Catalyst Law, a woman-owned and B-Corp Certified law firm, seeks an experienced Legal Assistant to join our growing team full-time. Our ideal candidate has at least two years of experience in a supporting role for an Estate Planning, Probate, and Trust Administration legal practice. As a Legal Assistant, your primary responsibilities include (a) serving as the initial point of contact for current and returning clients, (b) working with the production team to meet and exceed client expectations, and (c) developing rapport with clients of all ages and backgrounds. You would be a great fit for this position if interacting with people is comfortable and enjoyable. In this role, we welcome your fastidious attention to detail and absolute devotion to accurate and timely information gathering, document production, and project management. This position, which is almost exclusively in-office, is based in our King City location and requires occasional visits to the Pearl District office. Salary range: $26 to $32 per hour. Responsibilities: • Support management of client relationships, ensuring consistent and effective communication internally and externally, from the preparation of engagement letters for new clients to closing client files at the conclusion of each matter • Schedule client meetings and track internal workflow to ensure assigned casework is completed on time and on budget • Organize and manage docketing (court, administrative, and other deadlines) so as to never miss a deadline • Prepare draft documents, including court pleadings, briefs, and motions, using document automation software to promote efficiency and accuracy • File court documents electronically • Perform miscellaneous administrative tasks as needed to ensure operational efficiency Qualifications: • Experience supporting Estate Planning, Probate, and Trust Administration practice or, more generally, a law office • Impeccable, concise writing skills • Tech savvy - Proficient with firm software tools; ability to troubleshoot issues and willingness to learn new tools such as document automation software; keeps up to date on software tools, including self-training • Derives satisfaction from an identification of opportunities to improve client experience as well as the implementation of such changes • Communicates effectively with clients and team members, while adjusting approach depending on the needs of the individuals • A high school diploma is required; a two-year degree with paralegal certification is welcome, and a Bachelor’s degree is preferred Compensation: $26 - $32 hourly
