    Legal Assistant - Trust Administration & Probate Our firm is committed to providing compassionate and professional legal services to clients navigating the complexities of estate settlement. We’re looking for a motivated and detail-oriented legal assistant to work in our trust administration and probate department. You’ll be working closely with a team of paralegals and attorneys assisting in the estate settlement process. You will manage all aspects of trust administration and probate from initial client meetings to final distribution of assets. Duties involve document preparation, asset valuation, supporting clients and beneficiaries as well as working with financial institutions and various county courts. Responsibilities: • Prepare necessary legal documents, including notices, inventories, and distribution of assets. • File probate documents with the courts. • Correspond with financial institutions, clients, beneficiaries, financial advisors, court clerks and attorneys via mail, email, fax and phone. • Manage all aspects of trust administration from initial client meetings to final distribution of assets. • Maintain organized client files by scanning and uploading documentation to our CRM as needed while adhering to current systems and procedures. • Manage caseload to ensure compliance with deadlines and applicable laws and regulations. • Preform basic legal research and apply the law to specific cases and situations. • Other administrative tasks, as necessary. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s Degree or Paralegal Certificate preferred. • 2+ years experience in a law firm or an office administrative role, is preferred, though we will train a candidate who meets the other qualifications. • Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage time and work independently. • Ability to interact professionally with clients, attorneys, and financial professionals. • Must be empathetic, patient, and compassionate when working with clients who are navigating the loss of a loved one. • Collaborative and team-oriented. • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, comfortable learning and using other technology. Compensation: $19.25 - $24 hourly
