    Our personal injury law firm is looking for a Legal Assistant to help support attorneys and legal staff by handling various administrative and legal tasks. Ideal candidates will be detail oriented, exceptionally organized, capable of multitasking and handling multiple projects. Responsibilities: • Assists other staff members with incoming calls by screening and directing them to the appropriate person • Provides customer service and responsiveness to firm needs through phone calls, emails, letters, and other communications. • Prepares and sends correspondence as directed • Order supplies • Manage mail and document distribution: Receive and route all mail, settlement checks, documents, packages, and courier deliveries, ensuring they are distributed to the appropriate person. Perform basic file and recordkeeping for all mail and front office-related documents • Deposit client checks into the firm bank account • Runs errands if necessary • Schedules calls and meetings, assuring that the attorneys’ calendars are accurately maintained and organized in a logical and efficient manner. • Maintains the Firm Master Calendar with important events, deadlines, and reminders, ensuring all are updated and organized • Assists attorneys, case managers, and paralegals with projects and overflow tasks • Assists paralegals in preparing for hearings and trials • Assists firm administrator with office building support including vendors, administrative tasks, and projects as necessary Qualifications: • High school diploma is required; advanced training at a college or university is preferred • Prior experience in a law firm. Legal Secretarial experience is preferred, but in some cases, experience as a file clerk, receptionist or project assistant will suffice • Be a self-starter and able to effectively manage multiple matters at once • Effective organizational and communication skills, both written and oral, are needed • Strong sense of initiative and eagerness to problem-solve Compensation: $43,000
