We’re seeking a sharp legal assistant for our busy law firm who can help our attorneys and paralegals assist clients and keep the office running smoothly. You’ll assist with the preparation of legal documents and handle all office correspondence, including answering phone calls and emails, arranging meetings and travel, and reminding the team of upcoming deadlines. Responsibilities: • Ensure client billing is processed properly using daily time records with assistance from the accounting department • Manage office correspondence and administrative tasks such as answering phone calls, communicating with opposing attorney offices, taking dictation, responding to emails, and reminding the team of upcoming deadlines • Be willing to take on any other necessary administrative tasks to help the firm run smoothly • Perform legal research, as needed, with help from attorneys and paralegals • Arrange travel, schedule meetings and appointments for the team, such as depositions, and coordinate with outside vendors for events • Take care of administrative tasks and office correspondence by answering phone calls and emails, communicating with opposing attorney offices, taking dictation, and informing the team of upcoming deadlines • Use daily time records to properly process client billing with support from the accounting department • Work hours are from 10 am to 7 pm Tuesday through Friday and 8 am to 4 pm on Saturday. This is an in-office role. Qualifications: • Must be able to prioritize tasks with demanding deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment • Some knowledge of legal software, case management, and docketing programs • Applicants must have excellent communication skills and organizational skills • Must be able to type at least 50 WPM • 1-2 years of prior experience in a law firm environment as a secretary or administrative assistant
