Downtown law firm seeks an experienced full-time legal assistant. Must be detail oriented and have strong verbal and written communication skills. Collection, eviction, or litigation experience helpful. Salary based on experience. Excellent benefits.
Duties include, but are not limited to, drafting, editing, and proofreading legal documents; electronic filing; maintaining calendars; preparing and organizing information, data and evidence for use by attorneys in hearings or trials; researching public and private records; organizing files; independently preparing legal documents, and answering phones.
Qualifications: At least three (3) years of work experience as a legal assistant required. Paralegal experience preferred. Candidate should be highly skilled in writing and word processing, data entry, and spreadsheets; possess sufficient knowledge of court functions and procedure, including electronic filing, as well as relevant policies, laws, codes, or regulations; type 60 WPM. Qualified candidates expected to maintain cooperative working relationships with clients, coworkers, and other parties; communicate effectively; understand broad objectives; follow general instructions; and effectively prioritize and manage work schedule.
