The ideal Legal Assistant will demonstrate proficiency in meeting deadlines while maintaining effectiveness and efficiency. Responsibilities: Settlement: • It is expected that you will need to support and back up the settlement case manager and perform some of the settlement case manager’s duties and responsibilities, as needed. These duties could include but are not limited to: • Must be able to assist case manager with management of cases in settlement status and perform all necessary follow-up work. • Must be able to appropriately follow up with medical providers and send requests for documents missing. • Be able to draft, organize, and file documents. Coordinate, collect, review, and produce documents. • Be able to enter case costs and mail out checks. • Answer phone and reply to emails; data entry. • Close files once disbursements are done. Qualifications: • Medical billing experience is a plus. • Experience negotiating with medical providers and lien holders is a plus. • Minimum of one year of office work experience or demonstrated interest in the law. • Strong multi-tasking ability. • Punctual. Compensation: $17 hourly
