    We are looking for legal assistant who is genuinely excited about the legal profession and helping people. Paralegals at the Hatchett Law Firm are the hearts and hands of service through building client relationships and case development. Our paralegals are empowered to interact directly with clients, court staff and attorneys. You'll assist with preparing legal documents and correspondence, scheduling, preparing witnesses for hearings, and other tasks as needed to ensure our clients are receiving 5 star service. Compensation: $30,000 (potential to $48,000 and additional bonus) Responsibilities: • Conduct research on relevant laws, regulations, and legal articles • Primary and regular communication with clients, court staff, paralegals, attorneys, etc. • Draft, prepare and file legal documents • Organize and maintain documents in paper and electronic filing system • Organize and maintain calendar • Manage dockets and communication with courts • Pre and post-hearing legal document drafting • Gather and arrange legal documents for attorney review • Maintain comprehensive case reports Qualifications: • Minimum of 3 years experience. • Must be self-motivated and able to recognize next steps to keep cases moving forward. • Must have paralegal certification. • Must be capable of displaying empathy towards clients who are grieving or experiencing difficult family situations. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Experience working within the MyCase system. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. • Proficiency in Adobe. • Experience working with the following counties preferred: Harris, Brazoria, Galveston, Fort Bend. • Must have reliable transportation and live within proximity of the Pearland area (to avoid commuting) • Must be authorized to work in United States and successfully pass a background check. • Must enjoy smiling! Compensation: $30,000+ and bonus
