Position Summary
We have an opening for a full-time Legal assistant/Paralegal. The ideal candidate will have experience researching, drafting pleadings under attorney supervision, scheduling, and having familiarity in the areas of Housing/Landlord-tenant, Public Benefits, and Veteran Benefits. Experience with veterans' issues is preferred, but not mandatory.
This position requires good oral and written advocacy skills and a willingness to be an advocate for the indigent and veteran client population. Job duties include, but are not limited to, conducting legal assessments, performing intakes, and case management. Other job duties include conducting outreach and assisting in family law and veteran matters. This position also offers the opportunity to learn about both private and public entities on unique military/veteran issues and laws. Bilingual skills are a plus, but not required.
