We are seeking a Legal Assistant to join our Business Department in Washington, D.C. This role provides vital administrative support to attorneys and team members, assisting with various tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the practice. The Legal Assistant will manage a variety of responsibilities, including mail organization, document preparation, scheduling meetings, and handling travel arrangements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Organize and manage all incoming and outgoing mail for the team.
- Answer phone calls for timekeepers and redirect calls as needed when legal secretaries are unavailable.
- Assist with scheduling lunches, car services, and other logistical tasks.
- Greet and escort visitors, ensuring they are properly attended to.
- Provide administrative support by preparing reports, handling information requests, and performing clerical tasks such as drafting correspondence and coordinating meetings.
- Review documents for accuracy and completeness before distribution.
- Handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
- Assist with the scheduling and confirming of meetings and travel arrangements for team members.
- Process expense reports, travel reimbursements, and other financial documentation.
- Track receipts for accounting reconciliations and ensure proper filing.
- Assist with document scanning, filing, and maintaining electronic records.
- Support business development efforts by keeping contact information updated in the CRM tool.
- Assist with special projects and administrative tasks as requested.
Skills & Experience Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and other firm-specific applications after training.
- Ability to work overtime as necessary.
- Prior experience in a legal or administrative assistant role, or a professional office environment.

- Competitive hourly pay range: $26.00 - $32.00 per hour ($54,080.00 - $66,560.00 annually).
