  • Responsibilities

    The legal assistant’s primary role is to perform administrative tasks to support tax production and firm operations. This role requires a daily in-office presence. Responsibilities: • Serve as the in-person receptionist by managing the guest calendar, greeting clients and visitors; escorting them to the firm’s suite; notifying the appropriate associate of their arrival; and validating their parking as needed • Answer firm phone calls when the receptionist is unavailable; transfer calls and/or take messages as appropriate • Sort and distribute mail, packages, and other communication promptly and according to firm procedure • Document all client-related work; create and update records, ensuring the accuracy of information in multiple firm software applications • Draft Power of Attorney (POA) forms for existing clients and submit POAs for new clients • Schedule new client Central Authorization File (CAF) checks and notify the tax production team of their status according to firm procedureCarry out all case closings according to firm procedure • Assist the tax production manager • Prepare and maintain the cleanliness of the reception area Qualifications: • An associate's or bachelor’s degree is preferred • One or more years of experience in a professional office environment in an administrative role • Excellent customer service skills • Strong attention to detail and work review to ensure accuracy • Independent worker with a focus on firm procedures to organize and prioritize tasks • Proficient with Microsoft Office and Google applications and easily adapts to legal cloud-based software and applications • Effective verbal and written communicator with active listening, problem-solving, and proofreading skills • Ability to maintain confidentiality What We Offer • Excellent work-life balance • A team that likes to have fun through firm-sponsored activities coordinated by the firm’s social committee • A firm that believes in charity, monthly contributions to employee-selected charities • Competitive base compensation • A firm with proven processes in place to support efficiency and accuracy • On-the-job mentoring with a career path from Legal Assistant to Paralegal Generous benefits package, including: • Accrued paid time offEmployer-provided health insurance • Dental and vision insurance are available • Paid group disability and life insurance policyUp to 4% 401(k) matchAn annual retirement contribution from the firm’s profit-sharing plan • Paid parking or monthly MARTA fare Compensation: $40,000 - $45,000 yearly
