Job Overview As a Legal Assistant , you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our tax law practice. You will provide administrative and client-facing support, assisting attorneys and tax professionals while managing daily office tasks. This position requires a daily in-office presence at our Midtown, Atlanta location and offers a structured career path. Responsibilities: • Serve as the in-person receptionist – manage guest appointments, greet visitors, and coordinate meeting logistics. • Maintain a welcoming, organized, and professional reception area. • Answer phone calls and direct inquiries when the receptionist is unavailable. • Draft and submit Power of Attorney (POA) forms for clients. • Schedule new client Central Authorization File (CAF) checks and update the tax production team accordingly. • Oversee and execute all case closings in line with firm procedures. • Organize and maintain client records across multiple legal software platforms. • Sort and distribute mail and packages promptly. • Assist the Tax Production Manager with administrative tasks. Qualifications: • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree (preferred but not required). • 1+ years of experience in an administrative role within a professional office setting. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and legal cloud-based software. • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including active listening, problem-solving, and proofreading abilities. • Ability to maintain accuracy and organization in all tasks. • Can work independently while following structured firm procedures. • Must handle sensitive client information with discretion.
