Job Description
We are seeking an Entry-Level Litigation Assistant to join our team and provide in-office support to our litigation paralegals. This is a great opportunity for someone organized, detail-oriented, and interested in gaining experience in a fast-paced legal setting. The person in this role will assist with document management, mail processing, and other administrative tasks to help keep litigation files running smoothly.
Primary Responsibilities
Provide in-office support for managing paralegals
Scan and name documents according to established protocols
Process larger print jobs and compile packets of materials
Assist with all aspects of outgoing and incoming mail
Respond to time-sensitive and urgent tasks assigned by the managing paralegals
Deliver items to the courthouse, post office, or other locations as needed
Skills and Abilities
Ability to follow file-naming and organization protocols
Ability to follow specific instructions and complete tasks with accuracy
Ability to draft and proofread short documents with a high degree of accuracy
Ability to set and manage tasks and meet reasonable deadlines
Ability to effectively communicate with team members
Ability to learn and use online case management systems
Positive, client-oriented attitude in a fast-paced environment
Willingness to ask for help or clarification when needed
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree preferred
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Team-oriented with a proactive attitude
Comfortable using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and legal case management systems
