Responsibilities: • Update clients and outside counsel on case status as requested • Manage, update, and organize all case files and information with regard to engagement, whether electronic or paper, in accordance with firm policies • Coordinate between attorneys, staff, and outside vendors to manage the law firm’s case load, present case summaries/updates, and ensure that deadlines are met • Perform legal research to obtain documentation regarding health insurance, medical records, social security, and medical providers • Maintain contact with clients throughout medical treatment. Obtain insurance policy limits. Review and manage pre-settlement loans. • Order and collect medical records. • Draft Demand Letters. Communicate with insurance adjusters and update attorneys on offers. Obtain medical bill reductions and lien balances. Draft Settlement memos and disburse files. Qualifications: • A Bachelor’s degree is preferred, but a 2-year degree and Paralegal certification are acceptable - High school diploma is required • Proficient in word processing, spreadsheet presentation, and case management software • Effective organizational and communication skills, both written and oral, are needed • Experience drafting legal documents and conducting legal research is vital • Previous case management process experience is needed - preferably as a personal injury case manager, or related jobs such as paralegal, legal secretary, or legal assistant at a law firm, non-profit, or human services agency Compensation: $50,000 - $60,000 DOE
