    Aristeo Construction seeks an experienced Legal Counsel to join our Risk Management team. The person in this role will drive contract negotiations, resolve disputes, and ensure regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will be proficient in construction law and have a hands-on approach to leading the effort on all legal matters related to our projects.

    Position Responsibilities:

    • Analyze and draft construction contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, and other legal documents to mitigate risks and protect Aristeo's interests.
    • Represent Aristeo in construction disputes, including mediation, arbitration, and litigation, to resolve contractual disagreements and claims.
    • Offer clear direction on construction regulations, permitting requirements, safety standards, and environmental laws to ensure project compliance.
    • Advise management and project teams on the resolution of claims; manage outside counsel when litigation or arbitration is needed.
    • Oversee construction claims, review claim documents, negotiate settlements, and prepare for potential litigation.
    • Conduct legal research on construction law issues to stay updated on relevant case law and statutes.
    • Oversee Aristeo's multi state licenses and registration status. Work closely with registered agent and license holders to maintain good standings.
    • Any other duties as assigned.

    Required Skills:

    • Strong understanding of construction law principles, including contracts, dispute resolution, and regulatory compliance
    • Experience in contract drafting and negotiation
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Strong understanding of computer software packages

    Required Experience:

    • A degree in construction, or a related field is required.
    • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school required.
    • 10 years of combined experience in construction and legal practice (or a relevant blend of both fields).
