We are seeking a Litigation Client Service Specialist to provide specialized legal administrative support to a team of attorneys in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. This role is ideal for an individual with expertise in litigation and court rules who thrives in collaborative, team-oriented environments and is committed to delivering superior service to internal and external clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Attorney Support: Answer and screen client calls, manage attorney calendars, and facilitate seamless communication between attorneys and clients.
- Prepare legal documents, memoranda, and correspondence from draft or dictated text, ensuring high accuracy and attention to detail.
- Manage the workflow of tasks and projects, ensuring deadlines are met and coordinating with other support teams.
- Court Knowledge: Demonstrate working knowledge of court rules (federal and state), including document preparation, e-filing, and processing.
- Assist with new business requests, including opening new matters, preparing conflicts submissions, and maintaining client case files.
- Collaboration & Teamwork: Work proactively with Legal Team Assistants, Attorney Resource Center, and other departments to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and accurately.
- Transmittal of Legal Documents: Send documents to clients, witnesses, and court officials via email, mail, fax, or electronic filing.
- Manage critical deadlines using a calendaring database and ensure accurate calculations and tracking.
Qualifications:
- Education: Associate’s Degree preferred, Bachelor’s Degree is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of related experience in a law firm or legal department required.
- Skills: Excellent communication, judgment, and decision-making skills. Strong ability to prioritize tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- Technical Proficiency: Must be proficient with MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and have keyboard skills of 60 wpm or higher.
- Legal Knowledge: Proven experience with legal terminology, court/administrative agency filings, and managing deadlines.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift, carry, and move objects weighing 20-50 pounds frequently, and up to 10 pounds as needed.
- Routine use of standard office equipment, including computers, telephones, printers, and copiers.
