    Job Description

    Lenape Forged Products Corp is currently seeking a "Hands-on" OPERATIONS MANAGER to join our team. The OPERATIONS MANAGER will plan, direct, coordinate, and oversee operations activities in the organization, ensuring the development and implementation of efficient operations and cost-effective systems to meet the current and future needs of the organization. This candidate MUST utilize their extensive experience in heavy industrial manufacturing, knowledge of metals and metal forming, and operational experience with heat treating and machining. Maintenance scheduling and program implementation a PLUS!

    THIS JOB IS LOCATED IN WEST CHESTER, PA.

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES

    ·         Recruits, interviews, hires, and oversees training of hourly staff in the plant

    ·         Oversees the daily workflow of the plant

    ·         Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with established rules

    ·         Establishes, implements, and communicates the strategic direction of the organization’s operations

    ·         Collaborates with other department heads to develop and meet company goals while supplying expertise and guidance on operations projects and systems

    ·         Collaborates with other divisions to carry out the organization’s goals and objectives

    ·         Identifies, recommends, and implements new processes, technologies, and systems to improve and streamline organizational processes and use of resources and materials

    ·         Ensures that departmental decisions and project plans such as those for staffing, development, organization, material efficiency, hardware acquisitions, and facilities are in line with the organizations business plan

    ·         Establishes, communicates, and implements operations-related policies, practices, standards, and security measures to ensure effective and consistent support and execution

    ·         Generates cost-control reports, cost estimates, and staffing requirements for current and projected production volumes for review and approval by the VP/GM

    ·         Establishes the department’s budget and administers following approval

    ·         Maintains knowledge of emerging technologies and trends in operations management

    ·         Identifies training needs and ensures proper training is developed and provided for all operators

    ·         Performs other related duties as assigned

     

    SECONDARY DUTIES

    ·         Ensure safety and efficiency of the facilities

    ·         Prepare, analyze, and presents periodic performance reports and metrics to the VP/GM and other leadership

    ·         Control costs to achieve company budget

     

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

    ·         Strong background in forging/metal forming, machining, and material handling

    ·         Must be flexible and able to perform a broad variety of tasks related to mechanical engineering, project management

    ·         Excellent verbal and written communication skills

    ·         Strong supervisory and leadership skills

    ·         Extensive knowledge of the principles, procedures, and best practices specific to heavy industrial manufacturing

    ·         Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

    ·         Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

    ·         Conflict resolution

    ·         Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software

     

    EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:

    ·         Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or another industry-related field required

    ·         At least 10 years of industry-related experience including 5 years in upper management required

    ·         Proven track record of reducing scrap and increasing productivity.

    ·         Experience leading EHS programs a plus
