    A Licensed Asylee and Refugee Counselor Position is needed in San Jose, CA.

    Salary and Benefits

    • Competitive pay range of $84,856 - $95,000

    Responsibilities

    • Provide culturally sensitive, client-centered individual, group, and family counseling and rehabilitation services to asylees and refugees.
    • Facilitate referrals to community resources and perform case management services.
    • Develop culturally relevant assessment and treatment plans.
    • Complete all documentation per Medi-Cal, Santa Clara County, and standards within expected deadlines.
    • Participate in clinical supervision, consultations, team meetings, training, and on-call after-hours rotation.
    • Complete and maintain LPS 5150 Authorization certification and provide officer-of-the-day support.
    • Complete other related duties and projects as assigned.
    • DSM-V criteria for diagnosing behavioral health illnesses.
    • Knowledge of trauma-informed and evidenced-based practices (i.e., CBT, DBT, ACT).
    • Understanding of cultural issues, community resources, and family dynamics.
    • Ability to exercise independent clinical judgment within the scope of the program's responsibilities.
    • Ability to implement evidenced-based techniques to address client’s symptomatology and
    • Establish and maintain effective work relationships as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

    Requirements

    • Licensed in California as a Marriage Family Therapist, Social Worker, Professional Clinical Counselor, or Psychologist.
    • Master’s degree in social work or psychology; or equivalent education, training, and experience.
    • One year or more of direct clinical experience working with working with refugees.
    • Ability to communicate well with people of diverse cultural professional and experiential backgrounds.
    • Establish and maintain effective work relationships as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
    • Ability to maintain a valid California driver's license, current personal auto insurance, and an MVR sufficient to maintain insurability under agency auto liability.
    • Verbal and written fluency in English is required; Bilingual skills in a second language (particularly Spanish, Mandarin, and Vietnamese) are desired but not required.
    • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. Knowledge of or aptitude to learn Epic health record system.
    • Knowledge of legal and ethical requirements of the board of licensure.
    • Knowledge of mandated reporting laws in California.
