    The Fort Bend Regional Council on Substance Abuse, Inc. is seeking a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor or Licensed Master’s level clinician as a full-time outpatient Substance Use Disorder Treatment Counselor. This job is in Fort Bend County, Texas and requires working until 9:00 p.m. on some evenings and possibly Saturdays as needed.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    LCDC, LCSW, LPC, LMFT

    Ability to complete a biopsychosocial assessment and determine substance use disorders and their severity based on the DSM V criteria and the ASAM Dimensions

    a minimum of 2 years working as a counselor in a Substance Use Disorder outpatient

    treatment program

    experience working with adults and their family members

    experience in curriculum-based psychoeducation facilitation

    experience working with clients who have co-occurring substance use and psychiatric disorders

    Specific Required Skills:

    Individual, group and family counseling (SUD related) Correctly documenting client progress in notes using Clinical Management for Behavioral

    Health Services (CMBHS) and on monthly reports within required time frames Individualized treatment planning and appropriately reviewing each client’s progress and needs

    The ability to promote recovery and help clients access the necessary resources to recover Ability to provide and monitor access to referrals for co-occurring disorders

    Proficiency in retaining clients and promoting program attendance

    Summary of Overall Responsibilities:

    The appropriate candidate will demonstrate adequate skills in clinical documentation and understand the importance of accuracy and timeliness. The selected counselor will demonstrate an interest in the welfare of his or her clients and will have a working knowledge of the individual circumstances. FBRC is seeking a professional person who can maintain a caseload (16 clients), make appropriate referrals and work as part of a treatment team.
