    Job Summary:

    The Licensed Daycare Center Director is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the daycare facility, ensuring the delivery of high-quality childcare services, and maintaining a safe, nurturing, and educational environment. This position involves managing staff, developing and implementing curriculum, maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements, communicating with parents, and ensuring the overall success of the daycare center.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Leadership and Staff Management:

    Recruit, hire, train, and supervise daycare staff, ensuring a well-qualified and motivated team.

    Provide ongoing professional development and training for staff.

    Conduct regular performance evaluations and address any personnel issues as needed.

    Create and maintain staff schedules and assignments to ensure adequate coverage.

    Program Development and Curriculum Implementation:

    Develop, implement, and evaluate age-appropriate educational programs and activities.

    Ensure the curriculum aligns with state guidelines and promotes child development in a safe and engaging manner.

    Continuously assess and improve program quality to meet the developmental, social, and emotional needs of children.

    Regulatory Compliance:

    Ensure the center complies with all local, state, and federal licensing regulations and accreditation standards.

    Maintain up-to-date knowledge of childcare laws, health, and safety standards.

    Conduct regular audits and inspections of the facility to ensure cleanliness and safety.

    Parent Communication and Engagement:

    Serve as the primary point of contact for parents, addressing concerns, inquiries, and providing updates on their child’s progress.

    Organize parent meetings, conferences, and events to foster a strong relationship with families.

    Develop and distribute newsletters or other communication to keep parents informed about center activities and updates.

    Budget and Financial Management:

    Oversee the center’s budget, ensuring efficient use of resources.

    Monitor enrollment and staffing levels to maintain profitability while ensuring quality care.

    Process billing, track payments, and ensure that all financial records are accurate and up to date.

    Facility Management:

    Ensure that the daycare facility is clean, safe, and well-maintained at all times.

    Monitor and order supplies and equipment as necessary for the day-to-day operations.

    Address any facility maintenance issues promptly and ensure the space is conducive to child development.

    Safety and Emergency Procedures:

    Establish and enforce safety policies and emergency procedures for staff and children.

    Conduct regular emergency drills (e.g., fire, lockdown) and ensure staff are trained in first aid and CPR.

    Respond to emergencies as needed, providing leadership and direction.

    Quality Assurance and Improvement:

    Conduct regular evaluations of the program and services provided.

    Identify areas for improvement and work to implement solutions for enhancing overall quality.

    Maintain high standards for care and professionalism, promoting a positive and supportive environment for both children and staff.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field (Master’s preferred).

    • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in early childhood education or childcare management.

    • Strong knowledge of early childhood development, curriculum, and child safety standards.

    • Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.

    • Proven ability to manage budgets and financial records.

    • Ability to build strong relationships with parents, staff, and the community.

    • Certification in First Aid and CPR (or willing to obtain).

    • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle emergencies.

    Work Environment:

    • Fast-paced, dynamic environment with daily interactions with staff, children, and parents.

    • Work may require extended hours, including evenings or weekends, depending on the needs of the center.
