    Duties and Responsibilities:

    As an LPN at GlenOaks, you will perform essential nursing duties and ensure that residents receive the best care possible. Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

    • Resident Care : Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring that all residents receive high-quality care.
    • Health Monitoring : Assess and monitor resident conditions, vital signs, and behaviors, documenting any changes and reporting to the RN or physician as necessary.
    • Care Plan Implementation : Assist in the development and implementation of care plans, and collaborate with the care team to adjust plans as needed to address changes in health status.
    • Supervision : Supervise and provide direction to nursing assistants and other support staff, ensuring they adhere to care protocols and provide quality care.
    • Documentation : Accurately document all aspects of resident care, including assessments, treatments, medications, and interactions, to ensure comprehensive and up-to-date records.
    • Family and Resident Communication : Communicate effectively with residents, families, and the care team regarding treatment plans, health status, and any concerns.
    • Emergency Care : Provide immediate care during emergencies, including medical interventions, CPR, and other necessary actions.
    • Infection Control : Follow and promote infection control practices to maintain a clean and safe environment for residents and staff.
    • Health Education : Educate residents and families about health-related topics, medication administration, and care strategies.

    Education and Certification Requirements:

    • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) : Must possess a valid LPN license through the Minnesota Board of Nursing.
    • CPR and First Aid Certification : Current CPR and First Aid certifications may be required or must be obtained within a designated time frame.
    • High School Diploma or Equivalent : Required.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Ability to lift, move, and assist residents (up to 50 lbs) with mobility, transfers, and activities of daily living.
    • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and sit for extended periods during shifts.
    • Ability to respond quickly and effectively in emergency situations.
    • Ability to handle physical and emotional stress associated with providing care.
    • Ability to work in an environment where exposure to bodily fluids, infectious diseases, and cleaning chemicals may occur.
    • Ability to perform medical procedures and administer medications that require physical dexterity and focus.
