$1.50 shift differential for 2-10pm shifts and a $2.25 shift differential for overnight shifts

Duties and Responsibilities:
As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) , your primary responsibilities will include:
- Resident Care : Provide direct nursing care to residents according to their care plans, ensuring quality care is delivered and resident needs are met.
- Medication Administration : Administer medications as ordered, ensuring proper documentation, and observing residents for side effects or reactions.
- Nursing Procedures : Perform nursing procedures such as dressing changes, wound care, catheter care, and other clinical duties as required by the residents’ care plans.
- Monitoring Health Status : Regularly monitor and assess residents’ health status, reporting any changes to the RN, physicians, or supervisory staff.
- Collaboration with Healthcare Team : Work closely with RNs, physicians, and other members of the healthcare team to ensure comprehensive, coordinated care for residents.
- Documentation : Accurately document resident care, including assessments, treatments, and any changes in condition in the resident’s medical record.
- Resident Advocacy : Act as a resident advocate by ensuring their needs and preferences are respected and addressed. Foster a positive relationship with residents and their families.
- Supervision of Nursing Assistants : Supervise and provide guidance to Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) and other nursing support staff, ensuring proper care standards are maintained.
- Communication : Effectively communicate with residents, families, and staff, ensuring that all parties are informed and that care needs are being met.
- Compliance : Follow all facility policies, as well as state and federal regulations, related to nursing and resident care.
Education and Certification Requirements :
- Education : Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Licensure : Current and valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the state of Kansas.
- Experience : Previous experience in long-term care or skilled nursing is preferred, but not required.
Physical Requirements:
- Mobility : Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, squat, and lift up to 50 lbs to assist with resident care and transport.
- Manual Dexterity : Ability to perform medical tasks such as taking vital signs, administering injections, and handling medications.
- Comfortable with Sitting and Standing : Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time, particularly when conducting rounds or providing care.
- Resident Assistance : Ability to assist residents with activities of daily living, such as dressing, eating, and mobility.
- Work Environment : Ability to work in a healthcare setting that involves exposure to medical equipment, medications, and other healthcare-related items.
