Qualifications
Education:
· Associate in nursing.
Experience:
· One year of work experience, preferably in a medical office setting.
Certification/License:
· Georgia LPN License issued by the State of Georgia Board of Nursing
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
· Knowledge of examination, diagnostic, and treatment room procedures.
· Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to maintain a safe work
environment.
· Skill in assisting in a variety of treatments and medications as directed.
· Skill in taking vital signs.
· Skill in maintaining records.
· Skill in establishing/maintaining working relationships with patients, medical staff,
and the public.
· Ability to maintain quality control standards.
· Ability to react calmly, effectively, and professionally in emergency situations.
· Ability to read, understand and respond to detailed oral and written instructions.

· Ability to organize and is very detail oriented.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities: (This list is not all inclusive.)
· Obtains patient’s weight, height, BMI, and vital signs.
· Records the chief complaint as stated by the patient and preps accordingly.
· Prepares exam rooms or procedure rooms for the provider.
· Assists provider as needed during the patient exam or procedure.
· Administers medications per TMFC policy and procedure for medical assistants.
· At the direction of the provider or following a written provider order, obtain educational materials for the patient.
· Calls in/escribes prescriptions, following written provider orders according to applicable state and federal law.
· Fills out laboratory and diagnostic testing requests and makes patient appointments following provider orders. Referrals
· Documents/maintains accurate data in the medical record according to TMFC policy and procedure.
· Administrative grant requirements.
· Retrieves Messages from voicemail and addresses accordingly.
· Run monthly and daily lab controls.
· Clean and sterilize equipment in lab weekly.
· Daily lab temperature log (lab and closet)
· Maintain sharps containers at a comfortable level.
· Swabs-According to purpose.
· EKG as needed.
· Proper lab specimen preparation and documentation
· Injections
· Perform CLIA waived tests.
· Retrieve paperwork from front bin-Completes or distributes to appropriate provider.
· Prior Authorizations
· Drug Screens
· Lab Draws
· Inventory
· Order Supplies (Put on PO as needed for weekly purchase)
· Urinalysis
· Airway Treatment
· Return lab/radiology result calls after review by prescribing provider. Reports all critical lab values immediately.
· QI/QA policy compliance
· Assists with pricing for clinical services for SFS patients prior to performing.
· Telemedicine
· Chart audit
· Patient care follow-up
