Responsibilities: • Assist the surgical team in preparing the operating room for procedures, including setting up equipment and ensuring all necessary supplies are available. • Provide direct assistance to the surgeon during surgical procedures, anticipating their needs and handling instruments and supplies as required. • Maintain a sterile field throughout surgical procedures to minimize the risk of infection and ensure patient safety. • Handle specimens obtained during surgery appropriately, labeling and transferring them to the laboratory for analysis as needed. • Assist in the post-operative care of patients, including wound dressing, monitoring vital signs, and providing support and information to patients and their families. Qualifications: • Licensed Surgical Assistant certification • Minimum of 2 years of experience in surgical assisting • Proficiency in sterile techniques and surgical equipment handling • Strong communication skills with medical staff and patients • Ability to work in a fast-paced surgical environment
