    As an instructor for the Department of Nursing, a licensed vocational nurse (LVN) is responsible for developing and delivering course content while facilitating hands-on clinical training for nursing students. They assess student performance, provide mentorship, and collaborate with colleagues to enhance the nursing program's effectiveness and alignment with industry standards.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Develop and deliver instructional materials for nursing courses, ensuring alignment with curriculum objectives.
    • Teach and facilitate hands-on clinical training, guiding students in practical nursing skills and patient care practices.
    • Assess and evaluate student performance through examinations, clinical evaluations, and feedback sessions.
    • Provide mentorship and support to nursing students, fostering a positive and engaging learning environment.
    • Collaborate with faculty and staff to enhance program effectiveness and student success.
    • Stay current with advancements in nursing practices and educational methodologies to inform teaching strategies.
    • Maintain accurate records of student progress and participation, ensuring compliance with departmental policies.
    • Participate in program development, accreditation processes, and continuous improvement initiatives.
    • Engage in professional development and continuing education to maintain licensure and enhance instructional skills.

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Basic Requirements/Certifications:

    • Must possess and maintain a current, active, unrestricted LVN license from any U.S. state, District of Columbia, or U.S. territory.
    • Must have Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
    • Additional certifications such as Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) are preferred and may be required depending on the clinical setting.
    • Minimum of one year of LVN experience within the past three years in a relevant clinical specialty.

    Education Required:

    • Graduate of an accredited school of vocational nursing.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Ability to stand, walk, lift, and bend for extended periods.
    • May be exposed to contagious diseases, radiation, and high-stress environments.

    Other Special Qualifications:

    • Must be able to read, write, and speak English to effectively communicate.
    • US Citizen or Permanent Resident Card is required.
    • Pass/possess VA Public Trust Clearance.

    Additional Information

    Pay range is based on several factors and may vary in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant’s background, experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with geographical market data.

    Compensation Min: $18hr Max: $50hr
