    Position Summary

    The nurse is responsible for the nursing assessment plan and overseeing the medical and/or psychiatric management of the patient coordination with the attending physician. This position also provides input into the development of the Master Treatment Plan. The nurse functions under the guidance of their State Licensure w in accordance of State and Federal regulations. The nurse oversees the medical care of clients and will be responsible for performance improvement activities. The nurse will participate in activities during and in preparation for all accreditation, licensing, or other surveys. The nurse must have an understanding of poly substance abuse, insurance documentation, and utilization review management. Must have current state licensure and have in-depth knowledge of the residential concept of treatment.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Responsible to administer treatment for and oversee client's medical needs.
    • Ensures clear and accurate documentation of significant medical events.
    • Ensures CARF and industry standards are met by nursing department.
    • May facilitate patient lectures on health related topics.
    • After-hours availability to provide direction to staff.
    • Meet deadlines established by supervisor(s).
    • Maintain good customer service with patients and employees.
    • Other duties as assigned.
    • Generate a detox treatment plan in the client's chart for medical provider signature before client transition from admission into the facility for care.
    • LVN assigned to the client will make sure that the Medical Director has signed both the diagnosis/medical necessity document and detox treatment plan documents within 24 hours, and will contact the Medical Director if the signature is still missing from the chart.
    • LVN will write a progress note about the client's previous 24 hours in treatment.
    • LVN will complete a discharge summary for the detox episode within 24 hours of completing detox.

    • Knowledge of CARF standards.
    • Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
    • Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.

    Abilities:

    Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Nursing or a related field; Master's degree preferred (degree may be waived in lieu of years of nursing experience).
    • At least two (2) years of experience in the behavioral health field.
    • Must have acquired all required state licensures.
    • Must have valid driver's license and proof of insurance.
    • Must maintain CPR and First Aid certifications.

    Physical Demands :

    Work functions of this position are primarily performed in an office environment. Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to stand or sit for prolonged periods; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight (up to 40 pounds).Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to include repetitive keyboarding, grasping, and reaching to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and/or standard office equipment.

    • Vision: Close, distant, and peripheral vision ability, including depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
    • Verbal: Capable of clearly communicating with fellow co-workers, managers, and clients of the Center.
    • Hearing: Hear normal audio range with or without correction.
    • Environment: Work is performed in a standard clinical environment with client contact and frequent interruptions. This position may be exposed to bodily fluids, odors, and cleaning products on an occasional basis.
