Qualifications:
Required:
- 1 plus years of experience in ANY of the following:
- Med-Surg or LTAC
- Clinical Documentation
- Valid Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)
- Valid American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS)
Preferred:
- Covid-19 Vaccine
- Varicella
- MMR
- T-Dap
- TB
- HepB
- Current Physical
- Flu
- IV Therapy Certified
Overview:
Required Skills and Experience:
- Graduation from a Licensed Vocational Nurse Program and current license/permit as a vocational nurse in the State of Texas
- 1 plus years of Med/Surg or LTAC experience
- Current AHA BLS required
- LVN's must be IV Therapy Certified
What You Need To Know:
- Full Time 4 Days (0545-1815) and 3 Nights (1745-0616) LVN positions
- Clearance documents will be sent to candidates during the Review Stage 4:3 rotating schedule.

- Provides nursing services, treatments, and diagnostic and preventive procedures appropriate for inmate care and safety
- Interprets physicians' orders
- Administers prescribed medication
- When a physician is present, assist the physician with sick call
- Applies surgical dressings and bandages
- Provides emergency first-aid care
- Checks and records vital signs
- Instruct inmates concerning discharge planning
- Observe signs and symptoms during sick calls when the physician is not present.
- Reports reactions to treatments and medications as well as changes in the inmates' emotional or physical condition
- May instruct and supervise correctional staff concerning inmate health care and needs
- Consults with supervisor on problem cases
- Checks and orders supplies
- Maintains accurate medical records
- Provides health care education to inmates
