    Sheboygan Senior Community (SSC) is looking for a new Life Enrichment Aide to join the SSC team. The Life Enrichment position is designed for individuals passionate about enhancing the quality of life for seniors through engaging activities and personalized care.

    The purpose of this position is to plan, organize, lead, and document activities based on the interests and physical, mental, and psychological well-being of the residents. You will provide individualized assistance with daily activities, including enrichment activities, in accordance with each resident’s assessment and care plan, and as may be instructed by supervisors. Duties will involve personal contact with varying resident population and a varied work schedule that will include some weekends, evening, and holidays.

    Part Time 16 -20 hours per week / schedule may very Monday 12:30pm-4:30pm, Tuesday 12pm-8pm, Thursday 4pm-8pm, & 1-2 Saturdays per month 8am - noon

    Essential Job Functions –

    Assists in implementing all aspects of the Life Enrichment Program (i.e., music programs, games, 1:1 resident visits, etc.,) with the Life Enrichment Director

    Allows time in a day to spend individual one-on-one time with residents, as needed

    Assist in transporting residents to/from activity and social programs, while creating an enjoyable and satisfying experience.

    Participate in the coordination, implementation, and execution of daily activities and program.

    Accompany residents on trips, acting as chaperone when assigned

    Assist with the coordination of themed events and entertainment

    Offers suggestions for new programs

    Looks for ways to improve and promote quality of programs and activities.

    Ensure all planned activities and events are well communicated and promoted to the residents, families, and other department staff.

    Must know each resident and their family members through assessments and interviews.

    Engage residents and connect with them in a genuine, compassionate and memorable way

    Skills Necessary

    Creativity and flexibility to adjust scheduled programs according to residents’ interests and desires

    Willingness to work beyond normal working hours, and in other positions temporarily, when necessary

    Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult residents

    Ability to implement the programs and procedures that are necessary for providing quality care through life enrichment activities.

    Ability to facilitate programs of varying sizes with geriatric population

    Ability to work with residents who are afflicted with dementia-related illnesses

    Demonstrate flexibility with changing needs and schedule of the residents and the department

    Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paces environment

    Ability to follow instructions and to accept constructive feedback

    Sufficient verbal and written communication skills using the English language in order to perform the tasks required.

    Must be able to work cooperatively and communicate effectively.

    Must use imagination and creativity to motivate self and others

    Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action

    Ability to communicate activities/procedure to personnel, residents, family members, and visitors.
