    At Weston Field Club, we’re committed to creating a safe and enjoyable environment for all our members and guests. Located in beautiful Weston, Connecticut, our club offers a variety of recreational activities, including a pristine Olympic-sized pool. As we prepare for another exciting summer, we are seeking a responsible and attentive Seasonal Lifeguard to join our team and ensure the safety of everyone at the pool.

    General Purpose:

    As a Lifeguard at Weston Field Club, you will play a vital role in maintaining a safe swimming environment for all members and guests. Your responsibilities include monitoring the pool and pond area(s), enforcing safety regulations, and acting quickly and appropriately in the event of an emergency. You will be an essential part of the team that helps create a safe, fun, and welcoming atmosphere for all.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Safety & Surveillance: Continuously monitor the pool and/or pond area for potential hazards or unsafe activities. Remain alert and prepared to respond swiftly to emergencies, ensuring the safety and well-being of all swimmers.

    Enforce Water Rules: Ensure all club members and guests follow pool/pond safety rules and guidelines. Address any unsafe behavior or violations of club policies in a calm, professional manner.

    Team Collaboration: Work alongside other lifeguards and pool attendants to maintain a clean and organized pool environment. Assist with general waterfront operations and help ensure the facilities are ready for use.

    Customer Service: Provide friendly and professional service to all members and guests, answering questions and offering assistance when needed. Create a welcoming and positive experience for all at the pool and pond.

    Emergency Response: In the event of an emergency, take immediate and effective action, following established safety protocols and using your lifeguard and CPR training to assist those in need. Document incidents as required by law.

    Maintain Pool Safety Equipment: Regularly check that safety equipment is functional and easily accessible, including life-saving devices, first-aid kits, and rescue equipment.

    Qualifications:

    Lifeguard Certification: Must hold valid Lifeguard Certification issued by a nationally recognized organization (American Red Cross or equivalent). This certification must be valid throughout the employment period.

    CPR & First Aid Certification: Must be certified in CPR for the Professional Rescuer and First Aid, as required by Connecticut state law for lifeguards.

    Previous Experience: Previous lifeguard experience is a plus, but not mandatory. We welcome individuals who are dedicated, responsible, and ready to ensure the safety of others.

    Ability to Swim: Must be physically fit and able to swim proficiently. Must be able to demonstrate strong swimming abilities and perform rescues if necessary.

    Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with members, guests, and fellow staff members. Must be able to enforce rules and provide assistance when needed.

    Physical Demands:

    This position requires standing, walking, and remaining alert for extended periods. Lifeguards must be able to swim, perform rescues, and assist with pool maintenance when required. The ability to lift up to 50 pounds may be necessary at times.

    Work Schedule:

    This is a seasonal, hourly position. Shifts will be scheduled during weekends, holidays, and in all weather conditions typical for summer in Weston, CT. Lifeguards should be flexible and available for a variety of shifts.

    Hourly Pay & Benefits:

    We offer a competitive hourly wage, based on experience. Weston Field Club provides a friendly work environment, with access to club amenities during off-hours.
