Lighthouse Therapeutic Services is seeking new talent to join our team! We’re seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse who is motivated, knowledgeable, and will be an asset to our expansion.
Lighthouse Therapeutic Services is a trauma and recovery informed mental health and substance abuse agency that specializes in treating adults. We are licensed by the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services to provide ASAM Levels 2.1 and 2.5 and 3.5 services.
Under the supervision of a PMHNP, the LPN plays a crucial role in providing comprehensive and compassionate healthcare services to individuals undergoing addiction treatment. The ASAM 3.5 level of care indicates a moderate intensity residential treatment program, and your responsibilities will revolve around supporting the medical needs of residents within this setting.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Assessment
Regularly assess and monitor the health status of residents throughout their stay, documenting any changes or concerns.
Medication Management
Administer prescribed medications in accordance with established protocols and medical directives.
Monitor and manage medication side effects
Educate residents on the importance of medication compliance and provide information on potential side effects.
Collaboration with Healthcare Team
Work closely with physicians, registered nurses, counselors, and other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated and holistic care for residents.
Participate in treatment team meetings to discuss and coordinate individualized care plans.
Health Education
Provide health education to residents on topics such as nutrition, wellness, and the effects of substance abuse on the body.
Conduct individual and group sessions to address specific health concerns and promote healthy lifestyles.
Emergency Response
Be prepared to respond to medical emergencies and provide immediate care, including coordinating with external medical services when necessary.
Documentation and Record Keeping
Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for each resident.
Document all nursing interventions, assessments, and communication in accordance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies.
Collaboration with Support Services
Enable care coordination, connecting patients to clinical resources outside of Lighthouse Therapeutic Services through referrals where necessary, working with Counselors and Care advocates to help patients access social resources and navigate the healthcare system.
Participate in discharge planning and follow-up care coordination.
Compliance and Quality Assurance
Adhere to all regulatory requirements, including those set forth by ASAM and other relevant bodies.
Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement activities to enhance the overall quality of care.
Candidate Qualifications
Current and valid LPN license in Virginia
Experience in addiction treatment or mental health settings is preferred.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
Knowledge of ASAM criteria and principles is a plus.
Working Conditions
The position may involve shift work, including evenings and weekends.
Adherence to infection control protocols and safety measures is essential.
