The Line Cook is responsible for the preparation of food in a timely, efficient, sanitary, consistent manner and according to specifications set by the establishment. The Line Cook must be able to multitask to prepare multiple food orders simultaneously while remaining organized and acting on job duties quickly and effectively as a team player. Line Cook must follow all safety and sanitary procedures, have a high threshold for heat in a kitchen environment and work weekends.
Job Duties
Prepare food items using a grill, flattop, oven, fryer, and other kitchen equipment.
Prepare all food items in a sanitary and timely manner and at the proper temperature.
Prepare and present food as ordered by customers and according to the specifications set by the establishment.
Follow recipes and portion control according to specifications set by the establishment.
Work at an efficient and consistent pace.
Ensure timely preparation of all meals.
Ensure that the correct quantities are prepared to meet daily needs.
Ensure dishes and kitchenware are properly washed and sanitized.
Perform sanitary measures to ensure quality and safety of food by sweeping floors, cleaning surfaces, properly covering, storing, and dating food items.
Restock all items as needed throughout shift.
Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized kitchen area throughout your shift.
Ensure food items are prepared, stocked, and properly rotated at the end of your shift.
Assist with the cleaning, sanitation, and organization of kitchen, walk-in coolers, grease trap, and all storage areas.
Always stay productive.
Demonstrate flexibility and volunteer to fill open shifts as required by variations in staffing.
Arrive to work at the scheduled time.
Perform other related duties as required.
Pay: Hourly. Rate is based on experience.
Requirements
Cooking experience preferred.
Knowledge of methods and procedures for serving food, principles of sanitation, and principles of safe food handling required or willing to learn.
Flexible schedule including weekend hours.
Interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment.
Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
