Summary of Position: Prepare food in an efficient and effective manner that follows all JTR standards and practices, as well as comply with all local, state, and national food safety guidelines. Prep and cook foods for both lunch and dinner service, while executing dishes. Ensure cleanliness of both work area, and kitchen as a whole including, but not limited to, dry goods, walk in, reach ins, freezer, and all storage areas.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Arrive promptly and in proper attire, ready for work
Stock and set station for service
Check with manager for any food items or cleaning tasks that need to be completed first
Ensure completion of filling out and execution of daily prep sheet
Properly prepare food items according to JTR standards and practices
Maintain a clean and orderly work environment
Follow all food safety and hygiene practices outlined by Tulsa Health Department and according to all local, state, and national guidelines
Clean and maintain all equipment in kitchen
Receive and store all deliveries
Organize kitchen and work space
Wrap, label, and date all food items, and store properly in appropriate area of the kitchen (dry goods, reach in, walk in)
Properly use all equipment according to manufacturer’s specifications
Complete all tasks given by the manager
Complete all daily checklists and check out with a manger before clocking out
Qualifications:
Must be 18 years or older
Be able to communicate respectfully and honestly with others, including all staff.
Have a valid Tulsa Food Handler’s Permit
Have the ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time, up to 8 hours
Have the ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
Have a basic knowledge of food and working in a kitchen
Have the ability to read a recipe and follow instructions precisely
Be able to lift up to 50 pounds above your head
