Line Cook
Compensation- $16 per hour (plus tips)
Job Summary: Line cooks are responsible for providing our guests with an exemplary dining experience by producing high quality food and following recipe and plating executions. Our ideal candidates are passionate about food, fresh quality ingredients and creating a memorable meal. Line cooks will use a variety of cooking techniques and kitchen tools.
Responsibilities:
· Prepares all menu items in accordance with approved recipes and portion controls
· Follow and execute prep lists daily
· Set up cook station and prepare all food items in a timely manner
· Restock, clean, maintain and restock cook station items as needed throughout the shift, while practicing exceptional safety, sanitation and organizational skills.
· Assist with the cleaning, sanitation, and organization of the kitchen, walk-in coolers and all storage areas, adhering to proper food storage procedures.
· Maintain cleanliness and proper storage of all food products in accordance with health and safety regulations
· Maintains policies and procedures to minimize food waste
· Collaborate with server team to ensure that food orders are accurate
· Responsible for opening or closing a workstation (depending on scheduled shift), including but not limited to: deep fryers, flat top, cold table, steam table, dishstation, etc.
· Ensure SOP and all preventative maintenance, safety, sanitation are consistently achieved
· Adapt to the frequency and scope of required cleaning tasks
· Performs other work-related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
· Availability to work part-time or full-time including mornings, nights and weekends. Saturdays required.
· Must be at least 21 years of age or older
· Demonstrate strong knife skills and a wide variety of cooking methods
· Basic kitchen knowledge with regard to weights, measurements, volumes and portioning
· Close attention to detail
· Exceptional cleanliness and organization skills
Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
Team player with exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with individuals and groups at all organizational levels
· Comfortable standing for extended periods of time, able to lift up to 50 lbs and continuously bend, reach and twist
· Food Handler’s Certification
Preferred Qualifications:
· Minimum 1 year experience in fast paced kitchen
· Knowledge of operation, sanitation and maintenance of kitchen equipment
