JOB SUMMARY:

Join our culinary team at Mission Hills North Golf Club and work in a scenic and dynamic environment! We are looking for a skilled and dependable Line Cook who enjoys delivering excellent food quality to enhance our members' and guests’ experiences. The Line Cook will be responsible for preparing and cooking a range of menu items, including dishes for daily dining as well as special events.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• The essential duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Proven track of providing excellent results, demonstrating persistence and perseverance;
• Prepare, cook, and plate menu items to the highest quality standards, following recipes, presentation guidelines, and special dietary requirements;
• Prepare a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, and other food items for cooking in broilers, ovens, grills, fryers, and a variety of other kitchen equipment;
• Follow recipe specifications and portion food products according to company standards;
• Maintains standards for quality, cleanliness, organization, customer service, loss prevention, sanitation, kitchen conditions and food safety; and follow all health and safety protocols as mandated by local and state health departments.
• Set up and stock workstations with the necessary supplies and ingredients for each shift, ensuring readiness for peak service times;
• Work closely with the kitchen and front-of-house team to coordinate orders, meet guest requests, and support smooth service operations.
• Assist with inventory checks and communicate any supply needs to the kitchen supervisor or manager.
• Plan work on orders so that items served together are finished at the same time.
• Prepare menu items and assist with food service for golf tournaments, banquets, and other special events hosted at the golf course.
• All other duties as assigned.

Customer Service:

Demonstrates personal customer service excellence. Improves speed and efficiency of service provided.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• Valid Food Handlers Card; Food Handler’s Certification or ServSafe certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire)

• Previous experience as a line cook in a restaurant, hotel, or similar experience preferred

The physical demands, requirements, and work conditions below represent those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Some requirements may be modified to accommodate individuals with disabilities:

WALKING: Continuously, throughout shift, while moving about the store and handling merchandise. STANDING: Continuously, throughout shift and working in a kitchen for prolonged periods.

LIFTING: Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.

PERFORM REPETITIVE MOTIONS: including chopping, stirring, and plating.

Exposure to extreme heat, steam, and cold present in a kitchen environment.

Manual dexterity to cut and chop foods and perform other related tasks.

SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays, to meet the demands of the golf course and special events.

Overtime may be available as required and will be compensated in compliance with California labor laws.

Compensation and Benefits

• Starting Pay Scale: $18.00-$20.00 per hour

Within this range, individual pay is determined by factors including, but not limited to, specific skills, relevant work experience, and relevant education and/or training.
