    Position Summary:

    The Line Utility Operator supports the production line by performing various tasks including setting up equipment, replenishing materials, troubleshooting minor issues, and assisting operators and technicians as needed. The ideal candidate will be proactive, mechanically inclined, and able to perform physical tasks in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.

    Scheduled hours for this 1st shift position are 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday. The pay rate starts at $20.00/hr.

    Job Responsibilities: ****

    Production Line Support:

    • Assist production line operators by supplying materials, parts, and ingredients to keep the production process flowing smoothly.
    • Perform changeovers and assist in the setup of production equipment when needed.
    • Monitor production lines for equipment issues and communicate concerns to supervisors or maintenance teams.

    Equipment Operation & Maintenance:

    • Operate auxiliary equipment such as conveyors, mixers, or packaging machines to support production.
    • Perform routine maintenance on line equipment, including cleaning, lubricating, and minor repairs.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve basic mechanical issues on the production line to minimize downtime.

    Material Handling:

    • Ensure that raw materials, ingredients, and packaging supplies are stocked and ready for use on the production line.
    • Transport materials to and from the production area using carts, forklifts, or other material handling equipment.
    • Monitor inventory levels and assist with inventory management as needed.

    Safety & Compliance:

    • Adhere to all safety procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
    • Maintain cleanliness of the production area, ensuring all workspaces are free of debris, and equipment is in good working condition.
    • Follow food safety guidelines, including sanitation practices and proper handling of ingredients and finished products.

    Collaboration:

    • Work closely with production, maintenance, and quality control teams to meet daily production goals.
    • Assist in training new team members on equipment and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
    • Communicate effectively with supervisors and other team members to resolve production issues.

    Record Keeping:

    • Document production activities, equipment issues, and any changes or adjustments made during production.
    • Complete required paperwork and log information related to inventory usage, production quantities, and downtime.

    Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:

    • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to operate and maintain production equipment.
    • Basic troubleshooting skills for resolving minor equipment issues.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
    • Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
    • Attention to detail, particularly when monitoring production processes and quality standards.
    • Ability to follow safety protocols, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

    Education & Experience:

    • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
    • Experience: Previous experience in a manufacturing environment, particularly in food production, is preferred.
    • Certifications: Forklift certification and food safety training (e.g., HACCP) are a plus but not required.

    Work Environment:

    Production facility setting.

    • Must wear required PPE while in all manufacturing areas.
    • Moving parts and machinery are present in the plant.
    • Noise levels will vary, higher noise levels exist while in the plant operations areas.

    Physical Demands:

    • Ability to stand for extended periods.
    • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
    • Ability to physically perform functions of repetitive motion, grasping, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, crouching, kneeling, stooping, balancing, and climbing.
