Job Overview:
We are seeking a Linux Systems Administrator to work on a long-term contract supporting the intelligence community. The Systems Administrator position will apply expertise in installing, configuring, operating, and maintaining both Windows- and Linux-based architectures. The systems administrator will focus on improving the stability and performance of the platform, maintaining and improving the security posture of the domain, continuously monitoring system health, and troubleshooting issues that arise. This individual is accountable for Windows, operating systems, application support, integration, design, and assistance with additional duties as needed to support the team. Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience Requirements:
- A minimum of 7 years of experience with Red Hat/CentOS, VMWare ESXi 6.x+, vCenter server, and host clustering with HA and DRS.
- Expertise in Ansible and/or Puppet, AWS, Git/Gitlab/GitHub, Atlassian Jira and Confluence, and Elasticsearch on CentOS
- Active TS/SCI with FS Poly, will not sponsor the (FSP) Full Scope Polygraph
- Proven experience in server builds, application maintenance, and system automation
- Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server (2008, 2016), SCCM, WDS, MS SQL Server, PowerShell, batch scripting, and experience with Syslog applications such as Splunk.
- Experience in systems including SA engineering, operations, maintenance, research and development to ensure continual operation
- Must be proficient in building, documenting, and providing tier-3 engineering support.
- Deep technical knowledge of systems, networks, and application security and a solid understanding of enterprise-level security frameworks, policies, processes, and standards.
- Support virtual and physical servers, develop and maintain AWS environments, and manage various applications across different configurations.
- Experience developing, maintain, and enforce standards and procedures for applications, and produce comprehensive documentation
- Experience in research, recommend hardware and software solutions, coordinate installation, and provide backup and recovery support.
- Strong analytical skills for troubleshooting complex issues, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Experience Preferences:
- Certified Linux System Administrator, AWS Certification, ITIL Foundations, IT Security Certifications (CISSP, GIAC, Security+).
- Knowledge of network engineering, NetApp NAS systems, Hadoop infrastructure, Cisco Nexus switches, and Cisco Firepower Security Appliances
