Glasser and Glasser, P.L.C., a well-regarded law firm based in downtown Norfolk, Virginia, is seeking to add a dynamic and motivated Litigation Paralegal to join our team! This is an excellent opportunity to join a litigation practice and work in a team-oriented atmosphere while enjoying the benefits of a small law firm. The position includes both administrative and legal responsibilities.
In office (Norfolk). This is not a remote or hybrid position.
Pay is between $23.00 - $26.00 per hour.
Position duties include but are not limited to:
Assist with management of the trial process, including discovery, pleadings, hearings, trial exhibits, and filings with courts
Prepare legal documents and correspondence with clients/courts/parties
Forward and file legal documents/pleadings with the appropriate parties and the court
Manage case documents in the firm’s case management system
Open, organize, and maintain files
Manage attorney calendars (hearings, depositions, etc.), schedule meetings, and make travel arrangements
Monitor communications/pleadings received daily and ensure that deadlines are met
Update clients on status of files/cases
Prepare and submit client invoices
Qualifications
2+ years of experience as a legal assistant
Paralegal certification is preferred
Litigation experience in a private law firm setting is preferred
Understanding real estate/property law is helpful
High level of proficiency with Word and Outlook, experience with Excel
Outstanding organizational, interpersonal, and administrative skills
Excellent attention to detail with the ability to multi-task
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Must be self-motivated and able to meet deadlines
Must possess a willingness to learn and exhibit flexibility in a fast-paced environment
Must have the ability to work as part of a team, as well as to work independently
