    Are you a detail-oriented paralegal/legal assistant looking for a dynamic role in the heart of Arkansas? Join the Arkansas Municipal League's Municipal Law Services Program, where you’ll play a crucial part in our mission to support and defend the cities and towns of Arkansas.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Perform administrative duties: schedule meetings and events; maintain calendars and deadlines; submit invoices and receipts for payment and/or reimbursement; file pleadings in federal and state courts (electronically and via mail/fax); manage and organize case files; and compile reports.
    • Investigate and gather factual evidence from clients and third parties for cases.
    • Gather, review, redact, organize, and Bates-stamp documentation for routine discovery requests and responses.
    • Draft routine discovery requests, and coordinate and organize client responses for attorney review.
    • Manage electronic and physical case files.
    • Draft critical legal documents for attorney review – briefs, motions, appeals, contracts/releases, subpoenas, and more.
    • Communicate with clients (municipal officials and employees), courts, court reporters, opposing counsel, and other entities.
    • Assist in all aspects of trial preparation, trial, and appeal preparation.
    • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis, including researching rules of civil procedure, federal local rules, appellate rules, statutes, and city/state/international codes/ordinances.
    • Assist supervising attorney with special projects, as assigned.

    What We’re Looking For:

    • Five years of experience as a litigation paralegal or legal assistant.
    • Paralegal certification preferred, but not required.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, SharePoint, Outlook, etc.) and Adobe software.
    • Ability and willingness to learn and adapt.
    • Excellent time management, organizational, and communication skills.
    • Must reside within an Arkansas city or incorporated town limits.
    • Ability to handle stressful situations with professionalism and integrity.

    Physical Demands & Work Environment:
