    Patty Baker Humane Society Naples, Southwest Florida's premier no-kill shelter, is hiring for a Live Outcome Coordinator. The LOC serves to ensure positive outcomes for shelter animals in the quickest, most effective manner. This position utilizes industry best practices in open adoptions, community cat management, pet retention, and animal transfer. This position serves as the primary liaison to transfer partners and the community to increase positive outcomes for shelter animals. The primary goal of this position is to work with partner shelters to assist them in increasing positive outcomes and achieving at least a 90% save rate, significantly reducing shelter deaths in a sustainable manner. The Live Outcome Coordinator will track animals within the shelter database and prepare reports for review by shelter leadership.

    This is a unique position so please review these details carefully before applying:

    Schedule: Sunday - Thursday. 30 hours per week.

    This is a grant-funded, one year position. The position will end when the year has been completed.

    The LOC will split their time between PBHSN and Collier County Domestic Animal Services.

    Primary Responsibilities

    Perform administrative duties associated with program, including reporting and monitoring monthly save rate, average length of stay, and shelter intake and outcomes.

    Assist with the determination of kennel space for determining the volume of appointments/transfers and type (species, age, health status) of adoptable animals that can be reasonably accepted

    Work with partner shelters to identify animals for placement with PBHSN and other organizations.

    Ensure length of stay is minimized by forecasting intake and ensuring animals have adequate surgery space, kennel space, and the resources they need to move quickly through the shelter

    Assist in transfers to other agencies

    Enter animal information into the animal inventory software system

    Engage with volunteers

    Problem-solve and provide resolution to questions and concerns from staff and customers

    Interact with a high volume of pet owners looking to relinquish their pets in person, via email, or over the phone with an emphasis on directing them towards alternatives

    Support general engagement goals for website, social media, marketing and print materials by gathering stories and working with the social media team

    Perform pet consultations for owners surrendering their pets

    Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    High school diploma

    3-5 years of experience: combination of animal welfare, shelter and/or customer service

    Knowledge of canine and feline behavior that is acceptable for adoption

    Basic knowledge of medical issues in companion animals

    Ability to work comfortably with and around animals following procedures and protocols

    Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable with computers

    Knowledge of Shelterluv or other shelter software management programs

    Excellent communication skills and pleasant demeanor for interaction with customers, volunteers and staff

    Organization skills, multi-tasking ability and the capacity for working well under pressure

    Ability to work as a team player and possess the ability to self-motivate

    Ability to maintain a professional appearance and provide a positive company image at all times

    Excellent attention to details

    Valid Florida Driver's License, good driving record

    Physical Requirements

    Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb and manipulate (lift, carry, move) up to 50 pounds

    Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying temperatures and climates

    Ability to work with animals of varying temperament in noisy conditions

    Ability to work with cleaning materials

    Pay and Benefits

    $22.00/hr. Paid weekly. This is a grant funded position so the rate is not negotiable.
