The Loan Officer Assistant provides essential support to loan officers in the processing of loan applications, documentation, and communication with clients. This role requires excellent organizational and communication skills to ensure that all aspects of the loan process are handled efficiently and accurately. The Loan Officer Assistant will assist with administrative tasks, documentation preparation, and customer service throughout the loan approval process. This position is the precursor to being a Licensed Mortgage Loan Originator.
Key Responsibilities:
Loan Application Support: Assist loan officers in collecting and reviewing loan application forms and documents. Ensure that all required paperwork is complete and accurate.
Document Preparation: Prepare and organize necessary documents for submission to underwriters, including credit reports, income verification, and other relevant materials.
Customer Service: Communicate with clients to gather additional information or clarify loan details. Provide regular updates to clients regarding the status of their loan application.
Loan Processing: Help with the initial processing of loans, ensuring all information is entered into the loan management system correctly and efficiently.
Coordination: Coordinate with other departments (e.g., underwriting, compliance) to ensure smooth processing of loan applications.
Follow-ups: Track and follow up with clients, underwriters, and other parties to ensure timely and accurate completion of loan documentation and requirements.
Database Management: Maintain and update client and loan records within the company’s CRM or loan management system.
Compliance: Assist in ensuring all loan documentation and processes adhere to company policies and regulatory requirements.
Administrative Support: Provide general administrative assistance to the loan officer, including scheduling meetings, preparing reports, and handling correspondence.
Client Interaction: Act as a point of contact for clients, answering questions and providing assistance throughout the loan process.
Qualifications:
Military Service: Required - Any Branch.
Experience: Prior experience in a mortgage or lending environment is preferred, but not required.
Skills:
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Strong customer service skills and the ability to interact with clients professionally.
Knowledge: Basic understanding of a VA home loan a plus
Other Requirements: Must be detail-oriented, proactive, and a team player with a positive attitude.
