    Job Summary

    We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Underwriter to join our team. The ideal candidate will evaluate and analyze loan applications to determine the risk associated with lending money. This role requires a strong understanding of financial principles, excellent judgment, and the ability to make sound data-based decisions. The Underwriter will collaborate with various departments to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements while providing exceptional client service.

     

    Responsibilities

    • Assess loan applications by reviewing financial documents, credit reports, and other relevant information.
    • Analyze borrower creditworthiness and determine appropriate loan terms based on risk assessment.
    • Utilize financial software to streamline the underwriting process and maintain accurate records.
    • Conduct fraud prevention detection measures to identify potential risks in loan applications.
    • Collaborate with mortgage servicing teams to ensure smooth processing of loans.
    • Negotiate terms with borrowers when necessary to reach mutually beneficial agreements.
    • Guide loan processing procedures and best practices to team members.
    • Monitor portfolio management activities to ensure compliance with underwriting standards.
    • Perform equity research and financial modeling as needed to support underwriting decisions.
    • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, regulations, and best practices.

    Skills

    • Proficient in financial software for data analysis and reporting.
    • Strong understanding of fraud prevention detection techniques.
    • Experience in mortgage servicing and loan processing is preferred.
    • Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders.
    • Solid foundation in equity research and financial acumen.
    • Strong portfolio management skills with an emphasis on risk assessment.
    • Proficient in financial modeling techniques to evaluate loan viability.
    • Exceptional mathematical skills for analyzing complex financial data.
    • Detail-oriented with strong analytical abilities to make informed underwriting decisions.
