So, what will the Graphic Designer at Terrestris do?

Big picture, the mission of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is to fulfill President Lincoln's promise “to care for him who shall have borne the battle, and for his widow, and his orphan” by serving and honoring the men and women who are America's Veterans. Under the VA, the Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) supports this mission by providing a variety of benefits and services—including disability compensation services, insurance programs that provide financial security, and employment, business start-up, or independent living services and assistance—to Servicemembers, Veterans, and their families. Additional benefits and services to Veterans, specifically Veterans exposed to environmental hazards while fighting for our country, were expanded with the passage of “The Sergeant First Class Heath Robinson Honoring our Promise to Address Comprehensive Toxics Act of 2022”, commonly known as the PACT Act. The PACT Act provides the VBA with mechanisms to enhance the claims processing of and increase the workforce to support Veterans covered under this Act.

Specifically, you will provide graphic design support across all media including digital, video, mobile, social, and other broadcast platforms. You will work cooperatively with the Veterans Administrartion as an authoritative source on branding standards, guidelines and implementation of branding on visual materials; provide input on all aspects of the national and internation interaction with the United States Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Human Capital Services (HCS) Training Management & Performance Improvement (TMPI) Division partners, and other external stakeholders.

What does a typical day look like for the Graphic Designer?

You will:

• Provide proposal graphics support, collaborates with proposal teams throughout the proposal development process (pre-proposal through submittal) and working closely with the Proposal Manager
• Provide graphic design services to include developing and coordinating creative designs to enhance storytelling
• Produce layouts and subject matter information which demonstrate advanced working
• knowledge and familiarity with design and communication strategy across allmedia including digital, video, mobile, social, and other broadcast platforms
• Apply experience and capabilities to creative conceptualization, visual storytelling and solutioning, focusing on image creations, layout and detail for the proposal
• Manage competing proposal graphics priorities and deadlines, communicating and tracking progress to completion
• Support proposal graphics activities as required according to deadlines and availability of proposal team members
• Provide advanced technical dialogue and support in visual communications and computer graphics
• Collaborate and communicate consistently and easily with all members of the proposal team such as technical leads and SME's, program managers, department leads
• Transform novel ideas and information into communication products that are visually consistent with VBA design vernacular
• Display sound judgment and knowledge in depicting and emphasizing various aspects of the subject matter to develop and present appealing visual products
• Provide advisory services on branding matters

What qualifications do you look for?

You might be the person we're looking for if you have:

• A bachelor's degree in graphics design or a field of study related to the assigned projects
• A minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience
• Experience as a government contractor
