RSMC Services, on behalf of our client, is hiring a dedicated Locum Dentist to provide comprehensive dental services to residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The ideal candidate will be committed to delivering high-quality care in a supportive and compassionate environment. This position requires travel between our Florence and Hartsville locations.
Location:
Florence, South Carolina, (3 days)
Hartsville, SC (1 day)
Demographics: 18 to 68 years old
Locum-to-perm
Schedule:
- 4 days per week (Monday to Thursday)
- Monday, Tuesday, Thursday: 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
- Wednesday: 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM
Support Staff: 1 Dental Assistant (DA), 1 Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH)
Compensation:
Pay Rate: $850/day ($150-250K/year)
Responsibilities:
- Provide clinical dental services to residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including those with intellectual disability and related disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, and similar disabilities.
- Oversee the provision of all dental services under limited supervision of the Facility Administrator.
- Administer a range of clinical dental services, including examinations, prophylaxis treatments, scaling and root planning, and minor surgical interventions when appropriate.
- Manage administrative tasks necessary to maintain a comprehensive dental services operation.
- Develop and maintain efficient scheduling of dental activities.
- Supervise and provide management support for all professional and para- professional personnel in the dental department.
- Develop, maintain, and promote an ongoing dental prophylaxis program.
- Promote good oral hygiene of residents through comprehensive oral hygiene educational programs.
- Order necessary dental equipment and maintain compliance with DPH requirements for radiology, autoclave, and nitrous oxide.
Minimum Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited dental school.
- Valid license to practice dentistry in South Carolina.
- Dental experience required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of the theory, principles, and practices of dentistry and current developments in the field.
- Knowledge of recent developments and pertinent federal and state laws, rules, and regulations in dentistry.
- Skilled in all aspects of dentistry, including operative, crown and bridge, prosthetics, and periodontics.
- Ability to apply improved techniques and procedures in all phases of dentistry.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
